Tomaree High School is part of a unique educational facility in NSW. Tomaree Education Centre incorporates Tomaree High School, Tomaree Public School and the Tomaree Campus of the Hunter Institute of Technology (TAFE).
Over 2000 people from ages 5 to 70+ attend the centre each day. Co-operation and collaboration between the three stakeholders is a feature of this facility. Tomaree High School provides a comprehensive education to the youth of the Tomaree Peninsula where emphasis is placed on student welfare, academic achievement, sporting and social development, and use of technology in learning in an ordered student friendly environment.
Tomaree High is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school. PBL is a school-wide behaviour initiative which employs a whole-school systems approach to address problem behaviour and reduce its effect on student outcomes, and on the school community as a whole. PBL encourages positive behaviour from students, which has been shown to improve their self-concept and motivation to learn.
