NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.
Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.
SRE takes place for one period per cycle (Fortnight) for each Year 7 and Year 8 class. The program is run by C3 Church Australia organisation and delivered by Caleb Coles. Student only participate in the program if they have opted in via their enrolment form (2017 only, current Year 8) or by returning the SRE opt in letter (from 2018 onwards). Students may opt out at any time by notifying the school in writing they wish to do so. To opt in, student must see their Deputy for the letter to be signed and retuned before participating.
Currently there is no provision for Special Ethics Education (SEE) in secondary schools.
