Sport

This page will assist in finding information about local sporting events, Hunter Trials and NSW Combined High Schools (CHS) Knockout competitions.

Tomaree High School offers a variety of sporting opportunities for all students to get involved in.  These include team and individual sports.  Students are given opportunities to build on their skills at school level  and reach potential all the way to the highly competitive state competitions.

Tomaree High School ensures that all students have the ability to be involved in each sporting opportunity available and therefore provides students with mandatory sport each week from Year 7 to Year 10. Students in Year 7 to Year 8 have integrated sport.  Year 9 to Year 10 participate in a variety of sports on Wednesday afternoon where students can choose from both paid and unpaid sports in the local area.

Tomaree High School recently had two days of fantastic action at the swimming carnival in both the competitive and novelty events.

Yacaaba won the overall point score for the fourth year in a row, doubling the score of the nearest rival, Stephens followed by Tomaree and Nelson.

The age champions are

  • 12 Years: Hamish Clark
  • 13 Years: Evie Manning
  • 14 Years: Aedan Ryan and Ebony Nix
  • 15 Years: Anekah Sargeant and Randal Ingram
  • 16 Years: Sidney Buckley and Charli Webb
  • 17+ Years: Brady Stewart and Logan Stewart.

There were an incredible 18 records broken at the carnival. Ebony Nix set eight new individual records (14 yr girls 100m Fly, 100m Free, 100m Back, 200 IM, 200m Free, 50m Free, 50m Back, 50m Fly). Anekah Sargeant set three new records (15 yr girls 100m Breast, 100m Free, 100m Back), Hamish Clark with two (12 yr boys 100m Fly, 200m Free), Randal Ingram broke two (15 yr boys 100m Breast, 50m Breast), and one record each for Logan Stewart (17+ girls 200m Free) Brady Stewart (17+ boys 200 IM) and Buckley Ingram (17+ boys 100m Breast). Well done to all on your fantastic achievements.

Another highlight of the day was Ali Mitchell taking out the Belly Flop competition for the second year, in a fierce contest against Billy Harman with both competitors hanging in to the end. Billy was victorious in the inaugural Manu contest. Hopefully next year we can see some of our younger students getting involved with these two hotly contested events.

Congratulations to everyone involved over the two days and good luck moving forward to Zone, Regional and State carnivals. Go Tomaree!!
