There were an incredible 18 records broken at the carnival. Ebony Nix set eight new individual records (14 yr girls 100m Fly, 100m Free, 100m Back, 200 IM, 200m Free, 50m Free, 50m Back, 50m Fly). Anekah Sargeant set three new records (15 yr girls 100m Breast, 100m Free, 100m Back), Hamish Clark with two (12 yr boys 100m Fly, 200m Free), Randal Ingram broke two (15 yr boys 100m Breast, 50m Breast), and one record each for Logan Stewart (17+ girls 200m Free) Brady Stewart (17+ boys 200 IM) and Buckley Ingram (17+ boys 100m Breast). Well done to all on your fantastic achievements.
Another highlight of the day was Ali Mitchell taking out the Belly Flop competition for the second year, in a fierce contest against Billy Harman with both competitors hanging in to the end. Billy was victorious in the inaugural Manu contest. Hopefully next year we can see some of our younger students getting involved with these two hotly contested events.
Congratulations to everyone involved over the two days and good luck moving forward to Zone, Regional and State carnivals. Go Tomaree!!
An amazing day enjoying the sunshine and some friendly compettion at the round robin athletics carnival.
Students dress in their house colours and cheer on their house team. The athletics carnival is a great opportunity for students to compete in all areas of athletics.
